Sarah Bahbah is known for pushing creative boundaries with her work, but “Can I Come In?”, the new series commissioned by WePresent, is the multi-hyphenate artist’s most ambitious work to date. Not quite a documentary, not a podcast and definitely not your standard interview series, “Can I Come In?” is instead something new—an emotionally charged, sumptuously shot meditation on love, heartbreak, trauma, prejudice and the complexities of being a woman.
Hosted by Sarah, “Can I Come In?” stars Mia Khalifa, Liza Soberano, BANKS, Nemahsis, Cindy Kimberly and Yesly Dimate and across six episodes the artist builds six distinct worlds for her guests to bare their souls in, resulting in episodes that are raw, unfiltered, sometimes challenging but always unwaveringly honest. “As an artist, director, producer, and storyteller, world-building is second nature to me”, says Sarah, “but this time, I wasn’t creating from my own emotional archive. I was constructing visual sanctuaries for someone else’s truth to be liberated.”
Watch the first episode below as Mia Khalifa gets candid about past heartbreak, self love and letting go of the past, and check back every two weeks for the next installment of the series.
